Winifred Curran

Curran

Win Curran an associate professor of Geography at DePaul wears her undying liberal bias on her sleeve. Whether she’s using art to fight against gentrification in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, or participating in mass arrest protests for higher wages at the Park Hyatt, her extreme left leaning views are more potent than the February Lake Michigan breeze.

Win states, “My work uses feminist methodologies to explore the experiences of those whose experience of the city is left out of the dominant discourse of urban redevelopment.”

DePauls website even expresses her emphasis on activism, “Her own description of her work hints at how she links her scholarship with critical activism.”
